*The rolling girl is always far away,
Deep in a dream that wont come true,

Sitting in the classroom as the teacher went on and on about the sciences of the world, Blaze kept little attention on the chalk board in front of her. Instead of writing the notes in her notebook as instructed she found herself doodling on the blank pages. Each of her with a crown atop her head, riding a fabulous horse, or being swept away by a mystery prince. She often kept to her studies, but recently her head had taken her off to la la land more then usual, bringing her grades down to a maximum. SWAT!
"Miss BLAZE!" shouted the teacher as she slapped her ruler on Blaze's desk.
"Yes Mrs. Rosey?" Blaze quickly replied.
"You were paying attention, and taking your required notes aren't you?"
"Yes mam." The teacher peered down at Blaze's pages seeing she was obviously lying. She glared down at Blaze with that evil eye only teacher can truly nail.
"Honestly Blaze. I put you in the front row, I give you extra help in your studies, I even give you extra pencils when you lose yours. But just because your a princess it doesn't give you right to neglect class time."
"Yes mam. I apologize." Blaze lowered her head in shame and embarrassment as she listened to the classmates around her snicker and giggle at her stupidity. The teacher slapped her ruler on her desk to silence the class, and went back to her teaching. Blaze turned to her hedgehog friend Silver, who sat at the desk right next to hers. He replied to her glance with a look of sympathy, and sincereness. She turned back to her notebook. Attempting to listen to the teacher's instructions and catch up on her notes. But it certainly was no help when the student behind her began to whisper. If anything it was about the public humiliation that was just displayed not moments ago. All those whispers and taunts, reminded her so much of her mother and father and how they always talked about her behind her back or when she was daydreaming. The voices of the teacher, the students, and her parents all rushing into her head at once made it hard to concentrate. It even gave her a mind grain. She attempted to push it out of her mind by scratching her scalp like she usually did, but it never worked. Much like the first five hundred times it had happened.

*So much noise buzzes deep inside her head,
She scratches all around, she scratches all around,

Finally the dreaded class had ended. Blaze looked at her notes again, to see how much she caught up on. Three sentences. Not even close. She lingered in her seat for awhile as everyone began to file out of the room. The white hedgehog walked up to her again.
"Hey Blaze?" Silver asked.
"What?" she responded in an irritated kind of way.
"Umm, I just wanted to see how you were doing."
"I'm fine Silver." Silver on the other hand wasn't so sure.
"Your sure your okay?"
"Yes Silver! There's no problem at all." She was raising her voice again. "Now can you just leave me be?" He took to Blaze's words and walked off. Blaze followed shortly after.

*No Problem is so easily said,
But now, is there any meaning left?

Back in the beautiful palace, a place Blaze was once proud to call home, Blaze continued with her afternoon training. Princess training may sound fun to six year old's maybe, but the real thing was anything but a tea party. Blaze hated training. Today was the review on walking properly. So as tradition she was to walk in a straight line, with her back completely straight, eyes no where but forward, arms down, while balancing about three books on her head. Piece of cake right? Wrong. Over and over all Blaze did was trip, fall, and stumble over and over and over again.

*She fails once more, Fails once more,

"Honestly Blaze," her mother began "That's fifteenth time you've fallen today! If you just kept your eyes forward, and breathed in calmly-"
"That's What I've Been Doing!" Blaze shouted, punching her fist into the tiled floor.
"Blaze! Do NOT raise your voice at your mother."
"Yes Father." The queen began to rub her temple.
"Oh daughter, I don't know what we're going to do with you..." Well if that wasn't a slap in the face then I don't know what is. "You're dismissed dear. Go on up to your room." The young princess wasted no time making her way up to her room. She slammed her door shut, collapsing onto her bed. Today was not going her way, just like the day before that, and the day before that. She laid on her side staring down at the open yearbook on her pillow. All the faces of her fellow classmates were smiling happily, all except her. Her senior year picture and she wasn't smiling. She knew why too. She knew her life was slowly losing meaning by the minute. shes done nothing but fail for years. Shes useless.

*After searching for the odd one in the crowd,

Looking at herself among the happy successful faces of her classmates, it becomes too much.

*She starts spinning again,

Without hesitation she reached into her side drawer and pulled out a small blade, she rushes to the door of her bathroom, lifts the lid on the toilet and sets her arms down on its edge. Just as she prepared herself to sink the knife into her flesh... beep. Beep. Beep. She stops and pulls out a small cell phone from her pocket. She looks and sees a text message has been sent to her. The tiny screen shows Silvers name and a simple question "Wanna meet at the park tomorrow? Noon?"
"One more day." She tells herself. Sincereness fills her voice as if she were talking to Silver himself.  "I'll try one more day."

*One more time, One more time,
I'll find a way to roll on today,
And so she says, So she says,
Making sure each of her words are sincere,

She texts him back with a message "Okay. Noon." He texts back a little while after, "U okay?" he asks. "Fine," she sends back. "Just a little dazey."

*Are you okay?
No I'm in a daze,

However, as she exited the bathroom she looks back at the knife on the floor. The blade still tempted her.

*Trying to escape but I don't see the point,
Maybe I should just stop...
breathing.

The next day was kind of cloudy. A little sunshine here and there but not totally clear, the sky still remained gray. Blaze found her way through the park easily, since this was a spot she often came to when she was younger. Her and Silver came here every now and then to walk and chat for awhile, they had a special spot by a large oak tree in the center of the park. She found the tree and sat down waiting for Silver to arrive. But it wasn't like him to be late not in the least. Blaze checked her watch, 12:02. There she sat up against the tree waiting for her friend to appear, but time went by and no sign of Silver. She passed the time by counting the birds flying by, and playing with her flames. She checked her watch again after some time, and looked down at the small numbers in horror. 2: 11. Two hours had gone by, and no sign of Silver.
"He... he didn't come..." The purple cat whimpered. "And I came here for him!" Tears began to form in Blaze's eyes, and make small streams down her cheek. "No one cares... not even Silver... I'M SO PATHETIC!" She turned from the tree and ran. There was no denying it, she truly gave up. The colors from the world around her begin to fade, as she ran deeper into the park.

*The rolling girl girl feels she has reached the end,
The colors blend and cant be felt,

The voices in her head returned and this time she did not scratch them away. This time she let them eat away at her, let them remind her how much of a failure she truly was.

*All these voices are fighting to be heard,
They're all merging into one, They're all merging into one,

At that moment a certain white hedgehog had made his way to the old oak tree.
"Blaze! I'm SO sorry I'm late! I was held up at..." But he would never finish his sentence, because she was not there.

*No Problem is so easily said,

So many memories rushed into Silvers mind at once. How him and Blaze met, how happy they used to be when they played together, and the once cheerful eyes that went gray as time went on. He remembered yesterday, when she told him everything was fine when he asked if there was a problem. He knew there was no meaning to those words anymore. He ran.

*But now those words have no meaning left,

At this point Blaze had huddled herself up to another tree. Head buried in her knees, tears streaming down her face like never ending waterfalls.
"I want to try..." she muttered between her sobs.

*How will I stay on the right path?

"But I can't..."

*Even the hill's tempting me to stray from whats right,
Make mistakes I'll regret,

"I'm just not loved anymore..."

*One more time, One more time,
I'll find a way to roll on today,
And so she says, So she says,
Making sure each of her words are sincere,

She thought back to her words from yesterday.
"I'm such an idiot..." Who should appear at that moment but Silver, one of the last people she wanted to see.
"Blaze! I'm SO sorry! Are- are you okay?"
"Its okay Silver... everything is okay..."
"What?"

*Are you alright?
Just give me some time,

"It's not your fault I'm useless, that's my own fault."
"What are you talking about? Your not useless!" Blaze only ignored him.
"But don't worry, I'm gonna fix it. I'm gonna make sure no one has to deal with me again," Silver was to dumbfounded by her words, and very afraid of what she was going to do.

*I'll do something about all of this soon,

"I'll just..." She brought her hands up to her throat, cutting off her breath.

*You'll see when I stop,

"...stop myself from breathing..." she said it all. And all with a smile.

*breathing.

"NO!"

*One more time, One more time,

Silver, jumped from his spot, and took Blaze in his arms. He clenched onto her body tightly, so her hands would not reach back to her throat.

*I'll find a way to roll on today,

"How can you say that about yourself? How can you even think it? Sure your life has been hard, I'll admit it. But that doesn't mean no one cares."

*And so she says, So she says,
Making sure all words are said with a smile,

"I wanted to be here on time, but the boss kept me at work for an extra two hours cause we were so busy. I got out as soon as I could. And I'm sorry." Now it was Blaze who was too shocked for words, for the first time in a long time, some one was apologizing to her, not the other way around. "I wanted to see you today, because yesterday you seemed so distant. I was worried about you and felt it was time I told you how I really felt about you. I- I love you Blaze, so much." Blaze was being moved to tears by his words, only they were not bitter, the tears that fell from her eyes were sweet with joy. "It's okay Blaze, are you okay?"

*Are you okay?

"Yes, it's all okay now." She responded.

*Yes it's okay...
You must be sick of all of this so lets go,

"Lets go Blaze. Let's go home..."
"Alright."

*And I will stop myself from,
breathing.
